Angel Aliano
Co-ChairMajor: History of Public Policy and Law
Hello! I’m Angel, and I’ll be your Co-chairperson. This year I’ll be in charge of the administrative tasks that help the club run. Pam is the face of the organization, and I’ll be her sidekick! Feel free to come to me with any questions about the law school application process or the LSAT—I took the test during the summer of 2021, so please pick my brain. Outside of LEAD, I’ve been playing drums for a few years, so reach out if you want to talk about music too! After law school, I see myself pursuing education law, as I’d like to ensure fair treatment for students with disabilities.

Ana ArceNon-traditional/Transfer Student LiaisonMajor: Sociology
I have goals of becoming a civil rights lawyer, which was inspired by by my involvement with: Freedom 4 Youth as current Co-Chair, board member of El Centro, Initiate Justice, De-Bug Participatory defense. I have been an advocate for equity since High School centuries ago (graduate of 2007 at Santa Barbara High School) in all aspects, whether that is at School Board meetings, city council, or more recently as vice-chair of the first Formation Commission committee in Santa Barbara thanks to the hard work of Healing Justice. I also have a passion for helping youth and provides support services at Freedom 4 Youth, a local organization that supports primary at-promise youth who are currently and formally incarcerated and their families.
As a mother, everything I do is motivated to support future generations in mind and my community. I seek ways to create bridges of support so that communities feel safe, supported and empowered. This is why my education is important for me: every bit of knowledge I receive, I eternalize and share with as many as I can. Within LEAD, I plan on finding ways to connect communities, share resources, and provide support for one another during this upcoming year. In my free time, I create intention candles, vision boards, go on hikes and bike rides with my trike. Please feel free to reach out for support or tacos, I am always down for both. |
